Purpose
The p>urpose for Lister Outdoor Council is to safeguard and increase interest, understanding and opportunities for outdoor life in the Lister Region.
The Council shall work in cooperation with member municipalities and county and state agenciesto safeguard and increase interest, understanding and opportunities for outdoor life in the Lister Region.
This will be accomplished through following are as:
- Develop as a competence center for outdoor activities in the region.
- Overview of important outdoor areas in the region and to comment on planning and building matters affecting these.
- Contribute to management plans for state-secured areas which include Consideration of accessibility and universal design is taken care of.
- Concrete plans for securing new outdoor areas.
- Contribute to a variety of waymarked hiking trails and cross country skiing areas in the region.
- Provide schools in the region with assistance in facilitating "Open air learning".
- Work with outdoor life in a public health perspective and make sure that as many people as possible has outdoor recreational opportunities.
- Contribute to make information about outdoor areas and outdoor activities in the region easily accessible to the general public.
