RAIL CYCLING ON FLEKKEFJORDSBANEN
The bikes are tandem and can take up to three people. Price NOK 600, - per dresin in the main season and NOK 500, - off season.
Main Season:
June 17 – September 1.
Two departures each day from kl. 12.00 and at. 16:00.
Shoulder Season:
1st May – 17th June and 1st September - 1st November.
A departure every day from kl. 12:00.
Out of season:
Possibility of group bookings – should preferably be at least 5 dresin bikes.
If you’re cycling from Flekkefjord to the Bakkekleivi terminal you will need about 2 hours to get there and approximately 1 hour for the return on the 17 km long track.
From Flekkefjord center, you will first ride through a tunnel. It is very dark and you will be cycling in reverse but you will pass by many historical places to stop on the way. The track will take you fairly high up so you will have a beautiful view of the surroundings. At Flikkeid the track will level out again. Next you will bike through a tunnel that is over 1 km. long until you come to the Bakkekleivi stop, then turn the bike around and start your ride back. Make sure you pay attention to your speed when you are travelling back downhill after Flikkeid. Bring your own flashlight/torch and helmet if you have one and be aware that there are 17 tunnels on the trip.
