Five minutes drive from the town center is Skaren and Utsikten Golf Course with 18 holes. There is not much snow needed before the trails can be run! The trails here are very child friendly as there are little hills. In addition, they are suitable for exercise as there are up to 10 kilometers of paved trails for skating and classics. For families it is positive that the trail is laid in loops so that the trip can be reduced or increased. When conditions indicate, running trails will be on short notice.
The trail at Årli is about 15 minutes drive from Liknes. The trail is about 3 km and there is varied terrain with hills and plains. In the evening, the light must be activated on a pole by parking. The light is on until at. 23.00 when it turns off automatically. You may want to have headlamps.
This family-friendly light slope of about 2 km is centrally located at Kvinlog, close to the petrol station and the grocery store.
600 meters above sea level is the mining village Knaben with about 400 cabins in beautiful mountain scenery. Here are good possibilities for cross country skiing. For families with children, it may be sufficient for the round around Sanden. «Sanden» is a lake filled with sand from the mining industry that took place from the 18th century to 1973. This former lake is thus completely safe to walk on and the advantage is that it is flat and is sometimes lean for the wind. There are several public parking lots with access to Sanden. There is public toilet at the camp school. There are many groomed trails to choose from at Knaben, but «Husmorløypa» is perhaps the most popular for the hut and visitors from the valley. Husmorløypa is a good option for those who want a good trim trip. This trail runs from Sanden, around the mountain, via the ski lift and back to the Sanden. The trail can be challenging for children as there is a longer uphill and downhill. Families of children may be encouraged to take «Appelsinbakken» to avoid going down to the ski slopes. Then you get a shortcut which crosses the ski rack towards the top of the elevator. Be careful about crossing alpine traffic. The trip is also very popular and there are usually a lot of people in the trail and outside. Many make fire and enjoy themselves in the sun. The trail is prepared.
