Roundtrip Knaben I

Length: 7 kilometers

This is the most popular hiking trail in Knaben. From the crossroad by Storbrakka towards Reinshommen, follow the road 300 meters before you take a right turn and continue on the hiking track. After 150 m cross the road through Reinshommen hyttefelt (cabin area) towards Knaberøysa.

From there the trail goes steeply up Geiteryggen. Take your time on the steep uphill stretch, and turn around and enjoy the view of Knabedalen. When you have reached the top you’ll see the mighty Ørnehommen.

The roundtrip continues into Knabeheia in an open and easy terrain. There are lots of interesting things to see along the way. You pass several smaller mines from 1st World War, as well as other remains of mining. At some places you can enter the mines.

From Knaben the trail continues straight south past Bergetjørn and Roma mines. From Knabenrøysa it is 2 km back to the crossroad at Storebrakka.
