Easy/Intermediate, 5 km
A nice trail starting at the Tourist Information and Mountain Museum at Kvæven. Follow signs to Degløypa and toward Fidjeland (includes an underpass on Kvæven and the road in to Degdammen 2 km)
It’s hilly between the road and Appelsinhaugen but it has many nice places to rest where kids can play and go along the slopes on the surrounding terrain. When the trail comes to a bridge, be aware that the stream may be unfrozen during a mild winter. When you get to Appelsinhaugen, you can take the Forsbergløypa to Ålsheia or go all the way around (8km) if you want a longer trip. Parts of this trail from Kvæven to Degdammen are some of the first available trails in the winter because they do not require much snow. This section of the trail is well suited for cross-country ski training early on in the season when the terrain is flat.
